HL - Ville Laihiala, primeiro obrigado pela entrevista. Sobre "Exitus" (2020), como está sendo a repercussão por parte da mídia e dos fãs?

Ville Laihiala - Bem, o álbum foi direto para o #2 nas paradas de vendas físicas da Finlândia e as críticas foram ótimas. Parece que a mídia e as pessoas estão amando o álbum. É claro que veremos realmente quando sairmos e começarmos a fazer shows.

HL - Como você analisa a evolução da banda nesse segundo Full-length, quais são os maiores destaques?

Ville Laihiala - O novo álbum é mais sólido e soa como se estivéssemos tocando nosso barulho. Quer dizer, o primeiro foi um monte de músicas que eu fiz sem nem mesmo saber se haveria uma banda para tocar as músicas ou um álbum para esse assunto. Fizemos quase uma centena de shows apoiando o primeiro e realmente nos conhecemos e como cada um aborda seu instrumento e como tocamos e soamos juntos. Acho que é isso que você pode ouvir neste novo. Além disso, queríamos um som ainda mais agressivo e pesado. Orgânico. Apenas para registrar o ruído como ele está.

HL - Quais são os objetivos da S-TOOL quando esta pandemia acabar?

Ville Laihiala - Bem, como todos os nossos colegas, estamos esperando para pegar a estrada e fazer o máximo de shows possível. Esperançosamente, isso acontecerá em breve.

HL - Você tocou duas vezes aqui no Brasil com o Poisonblack, quais são suas memórias?

Ville Laihiala - Ótimas lembranças, com certeza. Duas vezes com o Poisonblack no Manifesto bar, em São Paulo. Muitas pessoas. Ótimas festas. Espero voltar lá, no Brasil com a S-tool também.

HL - Ville, você tem uma legião de fãs aqui no Brasil, Sentenced e Poisonblack são duas bandas incríveis que fizeram e fazem muito sucesso até hoje. Sentenced é a banda que mais ouvi na minha vida e é minha maior influência. Mas nunca ouvi você comentar sobre o projeto “For You” e sua participação na música "Ajetaan me Sodomilla", do Professori Heikkerö, o que você pode dizer sobre esses projetos incríveis e quais são as suas memórias?

Ville Laihiala - Bem, essas foram apenas algumas coisas improvisadas que fiz. Eles eram basicamente apenas para se divertir e não pensar muito.

HL - Tem alguma banda aqui no Brasil que você ouve com frequência?

Ville Laihiala - Bom, as bandas que eu realmente conheço do Brasil são Sepultura e Ratos de Porão. Eu costumava ouvir muito esses dois quando era mais jovem. Sepultura ainda, às vezes.

Ville Laihiala gives an interview about the new album Exitus of his band S-Tool exclusively to Headbanger’s Land

HL - Ville Laihiala, first thanks for the interview. About Exitus (2020), how is the repercussion on the part of the media and fans?

Ville Laihiala - Well, the album went straight to #2 at finnish physical sales charts and the reviews have been great. It seems that media and people are loving the album. Of course we will see it truly when we get out and start to play shows.

HL - How do you analyze the evolution of the band in this second Full-Length, what are the biggest highlights?

Ville Laihiala -The new album is more solid and it sounds like us playing our noise. I mean, the first one was a bunch of songs which I did without even knowing if there is going to be a band to perform the songs or an album for that matter. We played almost a hundred gigs supporting the first one and really got to know each other and how everyone approaches their instrument and how we play and sound together. I think that is what you can hear on this new one. Also, we wanted to go even more aggressive and heavier sound. Organic. Just to record the noise as it is.

HL - What are the goals of S-TOOL when this pandemic ends?

Ville Laihiala - Well, like all of our peers we are waiting to get out on the road and play as many shows as possible. Hopefully, it happens soon.

HL - You played twice here in Brazil with Poisonblack, what are your memories?

Ville Laihiala - Great memories, for sure. Twice with poisonblack at the Manifesto bar, Sao paolo. A lot of people. Great parties. Hope to come back there, in Brasil with S-tool too.

HL - Ville, you have a legion of fans here in Brazil, Sentenced and Poisonblack are two incredible bands that made and are very successful today. Sentenced is the band I've heard the most in my life, and it's my biggest influence. But I never heard you comment on project "For You" and your participation in the song "Ajetaan me Sodomilla", by Professori Heikkerö, what can you say about these incredible projects and what are your memories?

Ville Laihiala - Well, those were just some off the cuff things I did. They were basically just about having fun and not really thinking too much.

HL - Are there any bands here in Brazil that you listen to frequently?

Ville Laihiala - Well, Only bands that I really know from Brasil are Sepultura and ratos de porao. I used to listen to those two a lot when I was younger. Sepultura still, sometimes.
